A shimmering sea made of 65,000 old CDs

Posted by annaK On August - 5 - 2011

We’ll never look at CDs the same away again after seeing these images of Wastelandscape, an installation by French composed of 65,000 old CDs. Care to see this in person? You’ll find it in at the Centquatre space, which was formerly a funeral home. The space is now a unique center for creativity that’s open to all types of artistic expression including , dance and theater.

The artist envisioned Wastelandscape to be like “a still of metallic dunes.” The CDs were hand-sewn together into an astounding 500-square meter surface and then draped over inflatable mounds.

Jin Meyerson – Carpal Fatigue

Posted by danimelo On November - 9 - 2010

This last weekend, was @ Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery Paris so we want to you one of the artists who exhibited his work, .
Note: we know is an awesome & we love his work you can check it in our 6th issue, but this time, and seeing the “boom” that is having, we prefer to show you the work of that other great artist.

“The often monumental paintings of Jin Meyerson, wich feature symmetrical composition and a hyper realistic aesthetic, describe landscapes of twisting lines or crown movements.Lifting press images from magazines and the Internet, Jin Meyerson then deforms them digitally, subjecting them to infinite distortions such as anamorphosis. The artist visually and phisically translates how the alters our perception of the world”.

More pictures after the jump…
