Shrinkage springs from the creativity of Alice Baraldi, graphic designer, and Giulia Zago, fashion designer. Two different backgrounds both sharing the passion for style, with the desire to realize a project, a brand able to mix two worlds: the research and translation of nowadays trends with a fresh, new interpretation of classic shapes and volumes.
The name, Shrinkage, reduction, wants to blend in a single word different concepts coming from contemporary architecture with some concepts of Japanese philosophy: less stitching for maximum scenic result, the dress will come to life just when somebody wears it. The unpredictabilty is the distinctive mark of the spring/summer 2011 collection.
Shapes and fabrics are fused together to create a sense of depth for lines and volumes, originated by the deconstruction and exasperation of female body, color in natural shades of milky white in contrast with different greige nuances. Structured seams, pleats, garments full of seductive roundness and hard sharpness.
