Israel Announces That It Will Host Its First Fashion Week In The City Of
Tel Aviv
For the first time since the 1980s, Israel along with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism will be hosting the first ever “Tel Aviv Fashion Week” during the month of November 2011.The three day event will take place on November 21st – 23rd at The Station, a beautifully restored train station which originally served as the railway between Jaffa and Jerusalem in the late 1890s. This historical landmark is located on the coast of Tel Aviv, overlooking the beautiful modern day beaches. Leading Israeli designers will showcase their men’s and women’s collections for Spring/Summer 2012. In addition, ten young up and coming Israeli designers will also present their collections for the first time and compete for the Young Choice Designer Award.
World legendary fashion designer, Roberto Cavalli, will open the show and present his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Mr. Ofir Lev, Founder and CEO, TLVFW and General Manager of the Israel Textile Fashion Association commented, “We are particularly delighted by the enthusiastic response from Mr Cavalli and his team. He has been very supportive and will play a key role in the opening night of Tel Aviv Fashion Week. We are extremely thrilled to have him be a part of this very special event.”
Through TLVFW, Israeli fashion designers have the opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity to the international community. In conjunction with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, TLVFW will also be offering reporters and special guests the opportunity of a VIP guided tour of Israel’s beautiful and historical cities.
Renowned Israeli designers that will be presenting their Spring/Summer 2012 collections include Sasson Kedem, Dorit Bar-Or, Yaniv Parsi, Alon Livne, Alembika, Galit Levi, Doreen Frankfurt, Tovaleh, Yosef, Mira Zwillinger and Gottex. In addition, exhibitions by acclaimed Israeli photographers will also take place during Tel Aviv Fashion Week at The Station.
